Easter Eve 2012

Last year, we decided to celebrate the Easter Bunny and spring things the day before Easter, leaving Easter the day that we focus on the our Savior, Atonement, and Resurrection.

We made a spontaneous decision to to go to Logan the night before Easter Eve with my parents, who were driving back home from the airport. So, that meant Easter Eve would be at their house.

With my lack of motivation and energy from this pregnancy, we just decorated our eggs with stickers and didn't bother with dye this year. It was still fun though.

So we got up and had our Easter Egg hunt in my parents yard.

WARNING: Long video.

Now, to the basket!

 Peeps.

We decided to go to Heritage Farms in Logan, where they had a bunch of fun festivity things going on.

One these goats gave my coat a tug from behind and startled me.

This goat started eating my mom's scarf. I don't know why, but seeing my mom in this predicament cracked me up.

James wants one.

Sheep.

Baby pigs.

There was a reenactment of some cowboys robbing the bank.

These horses pulled us on a carriage ride.

Mom and Dad.

My tired face.

James and I got an amazing taco to share. IT WAS SO YUMMY.

The noodle company was handing out free samples of their macaroni & cheese.

Yum.

We waited in line for this short train ride for 30-40 minutes. And it was worth it :)

In the gift shop Tali tried on this headband hat.

We drove back to Salt Lake mid afternoon.

It was a fun Easter Eve.

A Bit Of General Conference

Yeah, I'm a bit behind haha. Just want to share a little bit of what we did for Conference.

We went over to our friends for the first session. They made Star Wars pancakes! How exciting!!  Atalia loved her Yoda pancake! Yoda looks angry.

Had some quiet things for Atalia planned like stickers, coloring these little wood cut-outs, magnet boards, snacks, no-mess finger painting, and beading necklaces (that one kept her entertained the longest).

And of course we ate way too much!
I usually end up dozing off during one of the sessions, but not this time! That's a first. I was even on Tylenol PM (didn't have normal Tylenol and Tylenol is all you can take when you're pregnant) for that first session and my eye-lids were so heavy!  I'm proud of myself, that was not easy lol.

Sorry, wish I could liven this post up a bit, but not sure how. How about promises of more interesting ones for the future? Yeah, let's do that.

Some Things Are Better In Theory

I thought I had a fun idea to make our day a little more interesting.. I thought I could add some food coloring to our dinner to make it more fun. I decided on pink. And I decided on Tuna Helper.

Atalia loved it.

Not sure if it was just the pregnancy, but the looks of it grossed me out. I still tried to eat it and it was good. So, as long as I didn't look at it, I was alright.

James came home and took one look at it and asked, "Why!?" I was kind of thinking that this kind of thing would gross him out. And it did. He tried to eat some, but couldn't do it. The looks of it were too much for him.

I was just trying to make it fun!!! lol Sometimes, things are better in theory and sometimes not even then haha.

Our Day Of Green

 Our St. Patty's Day...

Last year I remember dropping the ball on St. Patrick's Day, so I tried a little harder this year (lol but not that much harder)

We started off with Lucky Charms for breakfast and shamrock necklaces.

Tali and I painted our toes green.

We set up our platter of green fruit.

We introduced Tali to Yoda. She absolutely loved it. Here's a picture of her mouth hanging wide open while she watches.

We made macaroni art on green paper and played a game of hide the paper shamrocks and let Tali go around finding them.

This was actually the day that we found out that I was pregnant with my 2nd child! It's something we had been wanting for a very long time and tried to stay positive about, but for whatever reason, I guess, this was the right time. Made it a very special St. Patrick's Day :)

Sometimes Fridays...

Sometimes Fridays are hard. By the time James gets home from work and we eat dinner it's usually around 7:00 and Atalia goes to bed around 8:00. That doesn't give us a lot of time to do much. So, Fridays can be tough and no one wants to treat Friday like a weekday. Sometimes it takes some figuring out to try to make it a little more special.

I thought making a fun, yummy dinner would help make our Friday a little more special.
We did a sandwich bar and it was delicious!

We got some nice bread, bacon, sandwich meats, lettuce, cheeses, sauteed mushrooms, eggs over-easy, blue cheese, guacamole sauce, banana peppers, and all those condiments of course.

Maybe it doesn't sound like much, but it was fun! And REALLY yummy.

This was my sandwich... YUM. My dream sandwich :)

We still went to out afterwards to Target, just to get out, but I would say it was the dinner that made it a special Friday :)

A Family Night Idea

A few family nights ago, we went to the DI (like a Goodwill). The goal was to each find something to buy.

I picked out a few books for Tali to get (I didn't trust her, at her age, to pick something out that we would just end up dropping off the next week, not that she even really minds anyway.) I found a purple vase that I'm actually really happy with. James was having trouble. He was hoping to find a book, but didn't have any luck. I told him that he HAS TO find something. So, he picked a mug. It has a picture of the moon on it and says,

"Moon (moon) n. 1. Earth's natural satellite. 2. Diameter: 2160 miles. Distance from Earth: 238,856 miles. Orbital period: 27.3 days. 3. Space date. July 20, 1969: Apollo 11 lands on moon and later returns to Earth."

I'm still waiting for the day that we're glad that we have that mug lol.

All together it was $3.00. It was a fun, cheap thing to do for family night.

Family nights are my favorite :)

Sorry the picture is a bit blurry. It really bugs me.
