Making Treats For Family Night

We made Chocolate-covered Crispies for family night. They were so easy (especially if you take advantage of your microwave) and so delicious! I'll post the recipe at the end of the post. We had a lot of fun making them as a family too.

I think Atalia especially loved this activity. All smiles!

Ta DA!!! (is that how you spell, "ta da"?)

These were so yummy and so easy that I wanted to share them! (They are also very rich, so if that's not your thing, then maybe you won't like them.) (Rich treats happen to be my thing though!)

Chocolate-covered Crispies

-4 Milky Way candy bars (2.05 oz each), cut up
-3/4 cup butter, cubed, divided
-3 cups crisp rice cereal
-1 cup (6 oz) semisweet chocolate chips

In a saucepan over low heat or in a microwave-safe bowl, melt candy bars and 1/2 cup of butter; stir until blended. Stir in cereal. Pat into a greased 11-in. x 7-in. x 2-in. pan.
In another saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and remaining butter; stir until smooth. Spread over cereal mixture. Refrigerate until firm.

Yield: 2 to 2-1/2 dozen

We just did everything in the microwave and it was so easy! We also just used a 9-in. x 9-in. pan which also made fewer, thicker servings.

Oh yeah! I got this recipe out of America's Best Church Supper Recipes. It's safe to assume that all recipes that I post, are out of that cookbook!
