A Happy, Great Saturday

We don't get out too much during the week other than running errands usually and Atalia is so good about it, we try to make weekends special for her.

It was beautiful outside, so we decided to go out to the zoo. They have this zoo-rasic park theme going on with animatronic dinosaurs throughout the zoo. They made Tali slightly nervous and she kept calling them dragons. Some would spray water out onto the crowd, pretty fun.
Tali's favorite animals to see are the monkeys and elephants. Right now they have baby elephant at the zoo.

Stare off with the sippy cup.

We finished off the last leg with some dip and dots for Tali.

We got Tali some paints at the zoo gift shop and tried them out at home.

It came with butterflies to paint, but it didn't stop there.

Nothing makes me more happy than being with my family.
It was a really good, happy day.

Romantic Dinner For Three

I wanted to plan a nice dinner for James and thought it would be fun to make it a fancy dinner for my little family.

I made these cheese balls and dip for an appetizer.

It was fun to get out our nice china and use it. There is something about getting out the china and using it, that makes me feel all grown up :)

Everyone got dressed up for the night. (My husband is such a good sport)

I made this zucchini ricotta dish. It was very yummy. I LOVE zucchini and cheese so very much.

For dessert, I got this sugar-free recipe from my sister. EXTREMELY good! (Thanks Jen!)
I think I'll be making this again very soon, in fact, we are having some friends over for dinner this week and will be making it again for them.

My favorite part is the pastry shell crust.

It's fun to get all dressed up every-so-often!

Our Chinese Family Night

For family night, we tried to go all out Chinese.

I fell in love with the lantern.

James is the pig- "Pigs are chivalrous and gallant. They give all their effort in whatever they do. They are social, determined intellectuals. They make few friends but they last a lifetime. They hate arguments and act as peacemakers. Pigs make decisions very carefully. They tend to be naive in love. They may succeed as an entertainer or lawyer."

I am the tiger- "Tigers are deep and sensitive, and courageous. They are rebels by nature. They are adventurous and daring, which makes others admire them. They hate injustices of society and often are given to humanitarian causes. Tigers can achieve powerful results with their knack of influencing others. A Tiger may make a good explorer, race car driver or boss."

(I am not very adventurous) (In fact, I am an extremely play-it-safe person)

Atalia is the ox- "Ox people are patient, quiet but eloquent. They are usually easy-going but may display fiery tempers when provoked. They can be stubborn and hate to fail. They are very trustworthy and often hold positions of power. They work best alone and are good providers for families. Oxen make good surgeons or hairdressers."

James' parents got this kimono at China Town in New York City for Tali. It looks very adorable on her, I think.

We got Panda Express, I didn't have the energy to make Chinese food.

I don't remember exactly what our fortune cookies said, but they were nothing too great or relative.

We watched Kung Fu Panda afterwards. It was a fun evening.

We Like Our Families

I think it's safe to say that most of my post's are family visit's lol.

We had the pleasure to see Nick and Heidi last weekend! We met up in Logan at my Dad's.

The weather was beautiful! Felt like summer for once.

We went out to eat.

Then we went on a walk and stopped at a school playground and played.

Dirt is Heaven for Tali.

My family is full of kids at heart :)
Wouldn't have it any other way.

We had a really nice visit, as always. We are so glad that Nick and Heidi could fit us in with the little time that they had out West. Miss them terribly.

James and I are blessed with great families.
