Big Shoes To Fill

Atalia pulled up her Daddy's socks and put on his shoes.

Finally got her to smile for a picture... a goofy smile :)

A Day With Poppie

Poppie came down for a day trip. We had a magical day filled with lots of fun activities.

We ate at Rubio's for the first time. I fell in love with Tali's fish taco. In fact, I can't wait for the day to eat it again.

Tali went to go sit with Poppie and steal his food.

Our plan was to play at Liberty Park, but we didn't realize how much there was to do there!

We decided to see the aviary zoo place there. It was pretty amazing! We had SO much fun! I had seen some birds I had never seen before like the condor in the picture above (It was HUGE! Bigger than it looks in the picture.). We also got to hand feed some birds.... it was terrifying at first.

(There's a peacock in the picture above)

Then we made our way to the park afterwards.
That park is amazing!

Then we went out to eat at a pizza a place that I can't remember what it's called, but it was very yummy!

We were planning on seeing a movie afterwards, but just missed the latest showing time that we could have made, but we got Tali some popcorn to help ease her pain. And finally, we showed my dad TCBY. We sure took advantage of making the day fun-filled.

Thank you, dad! We had a really nice time with you!

Finding Letters

For family night, we went around our home looking for letters in things, trying to spell out "Atalia Hansen". We had a lot of fun doing this, but the down side of it was that it excluded Tali :( That was my mistake in planning an activity. I felt so bad for over-looking that.

Quick! Grab Some Green Things And Let's Celebrate St. Patrick's Day!

I've been so off the ball last week and this week, it's frustrating. I didn't have anything planned for the holiday.... which if you know me, it makes me sad to not make a big deal about it.

Actually, Tali already happened to be wearing green that day... unplanned (made me kinda happy to have done that on accident).

I grabbed green paper, green crayons, and green play-do and that was how we celebrated the holiday :)

I don't remember what this look was for, but she rarely lets me get a picture of those beautiful blue eyes that I was happy to get it, even if she was unhappy at the moment.

Later that day we did have some green mint chocolate chip ice cream after dinner... a last whoo-rah! to the holiday.

Of course, some videos of Tali:

Sometimes The Obvious, Isn't Always That Obviouse

I would like to dedicate this post to my brother, Nick, who has wanted to buy me a leveler for a long time because I always had crooked pictures hanging up in all of our previous homes.

Nick, you would be proud that I took the time to make sure it was level.

I have this mail organizer that I've been wanting to hang up.

The problem is that it has these two... I'm not sure what the name for them is... I'll call them, hooky loop things. Why this is so terrible for me is because then I have to put more time into measuring, not the end of the world, but one of those things I don't want to put forth energy into (I think you call that laziness). But it was on my "to do" list and I wanted to do it right.

I thought I came up with an amazing solution that would make it easier by taping a crayon on each side where I would need to put the nails to hang it, and rub it on the wall to make the marks that I needed.

Then I would just level it out to make sure it hangs straight.

Okay, later I realized that it wouldn't have been that much trouble to just measure the distance between the two and mark that on the wall. Sometimes the obvious isn't always that obvious to me.
(the two marks)

Tali then saw me "color" on the walls and wanted to color on the walls too. I had quickly grab a piece of paper and tape it on the wall before she threw a fit, so that she could "color on the wall" too.

And there we go!

I was so proud of myself for hanging it the right way (meaning... making sure it was hanging straight) that it would make me smile as I would pass it throughout the day (kinda pathetic, right?).

On a different note, here are some videos of Tali dancing that day:

A Pretty Perfect Day

For family night, we planned on going to the public library and spend some time there. They have a cute library in Sugar House.

Tali made a friend... a little doll that she found in the library's toy box.

She had a lot of fun with this toy.

We had a lot of fun at the library (bonus with it being a free activity). Atalia loves books and had a blast playing with some of the toys they had too.

We were having such a nice time being out that we weren't ready to call it day yet.

We tried out a place called TCBY (The Counties Best Yogurt). It is my new favorite place! It was buy one get one half off that day too! (that added to our good moods)

Such a cute place! I highly recommend TCBY!

Then we walked over to the book store and got Atalia some books with some of her birthday money.

We were excited that Tangled was finally at the cheap theater (.75 cents on Mondays!!!) and decided to see the movie too!

Before the movie started, we hung out in the arcade.

This video cracks me up of James, because he is so serious. I bet he's pretending in his head that he is a secret agent. haha!

I'm so grateful for days like this and we didn't even need to spend a lot of money!!
