So Grateful

Daddy wanted to turn on a movie and snuggle with his little girl. I'm so grateful for a husband that loves his little girl so much. Sometimes we just stay up talking about how cute she is. I am very blessed to have such a sweet little girl and husband.

Making Treats For Family Night

We made Chocolate-covered Crispies for family night. They were so easy (especially if you take advantage of your microwave) and so delicious! I'll post the recipe at the end of the post. We had a lot of fun making them as a family too.

I think Atalia especially loved this activity. All smiles!

Ta DA!!! (is that how you spell, "ta da"?)

These were so yummy and so easy that I wanted to share them! (They are also very rich, so if that's not your thing, then maybe you won't like them.) (Rich treats happen to be my thing though!)

Chocolate-covered Crispies

-4 Milky Way candy bars (2.05 oz each), cut up
-3/4 cup butter, cubed, divided
-3 cups crisp rice cereal
-1 cup (6 oz) semisweet chocolate chips

In a saucepan over low heat or in a microwave-safe bowl, melt candy bars and 1/2 cup of butter; stir until blended. Stir in cereal. Pat into a greased 11-in. x 7-in. x 2-in. pan.
In another saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and remaining butter; stir until smooth. Spread over cereal mixture. Refrigerate until firm.

Yield: 2 to 2-1/2 dozen

We just did everything in the microwave and it was so easy! We also just used a 9-in. x 9-in. pan which also made fewer, thicker servings.

Oh yeah! I got this recipe out of America's Best Church Supper Recipes. It's safe to assume that all recipes that I post, are out of that cookbook!

It Warms A Mother's Heart

Finding Atalia like this, sitting quietly and "reading" the scriptures, is so sweet. It makes you take a moment and realize how important good examples are to her. I hope that I can do my best to be that for her :)

Sharing The Love

This was how this little Hansen family spent their Valentines Day...

The night before we had heart shaped waffles for dinner. This was actually not planned. Well, the waffle part was planned, but our waffle iron only makes heart shaped waffles. It just ended up working well with the Valentines Day being the next day!

Daddy got Atalia a little heart-shaped chocolate sucker for Valentines Day! She was thrilled!!

Tali eating that chocolate sucker! It helped that it was on a stick, it didn't end up being as big of a mess. Maybe I'll start feeding her all of her food on a stick. Just kidding, that would be a lot of work.

Kisses for Daddy!

I got James a puzzle of a picture of us together on the day he asked me to marry him. Then on the back side of each puzzle piece I wrote something that I love about him or one of my top favorite memories with him.

This is the picture I used for the puzzle

James got me chocolate-covered strawberries from a really nice chocolate shop close by.

And some love coupons for some fun dates.

We had FHE and talked about Heavenly Father and His love for us. We made little heart crowns to go along with the lesson.

I guess we decided we needed a little culture in our lives and went to an art gallery.

We decided to kind of make a game out of it... that we would pick out the one piece of art that we would buy if we could (well, it's kind of a game, right?)

James picked this one.

Then he changed it to this.

I couldn't find one that I would want to buy. Not that there weren't any that I didn't like or think was amazing, just not any that were my style that I could see hanging in my home. I guess that's just me taking the game very literal lol. One time, my brother, Jon told me that you should never buy a piece of art unless it's something you can't live without. Now, whenever I see some art I always ask myself that question. I think I'm a picky person.

We did take-out that night for dinner, from The Macaroni Grill. Mmmmnnn... it was yummy! And we ate some chocolate silk pie for dessert and watched a chick flick.

It was a nice Hansen family Valentines Day!

Tali, Ducks!

Two weeks ago, we had the nicest weather! We decided to be adventurous and walk to the Sugar House Park. It was so good to get Tali out in the fresh air too.

So, this is a little view of Sugar House Park. You can't tell in the picture, but there were a ton of people there. There's like this track around the whole park, but it's not really a track, it's more like a bike lane and it was highly populated with walkers, joggers, and bikers. It was almost hard to just cross into the park with all the people traffic. Ok, so it wasn't THAT difficult, but to me it was surprising how many people were there.

This is the scary back-alley by our apartment. Just kidding, it's not scary. Though it is kinda to me.

A nice little family gave us their left-over crackers to feed the ducks or geese.

She wanted to go right up to those geese, it was scary!

It was so nice to get out and do something active!

Tali Playing In Front Of Our Apartment

I thought my family would be interested in seeing these.

She looks so little!!

I don't know why I was so off in centering this photo, especially since it would have been so cute! Instead, it's a lot of the rain gutter thingy!

Atalia Plays With Daddy

Please ignore the mess in the background. My excuse is that we were still unpacking.

For fun, we got some books at the DI for Tali. The DI here, is three stories! Kind of amazing!

The point of this video was to catch her laughing at this spot in the cartoon that makes her laugh. It's really cute when your little child starts to kind of understand her shows and it's fun to see the things that make her laugh. She actually didn't laugh as hard as she normally does, of course, for the one time I try to catch it on video.

Daddy makes Atalia fly! They were playing on a toddler mattress... in case you were wondering what that was.

Sorry for the videos not fitting very well. By the time I realized that I didn't make them smaller, I was already done uploading them and I don't feel up to re-doing it.

Some Playing At Home

We made jewelry out of play-do (a ring, a necklace, and a bracelet). This little girl is definitely a girly girl, but I don't mind one bit :)

We're going to have to store Atalia's car. There is just no room for it in our little apartment.

Some Tali Cuteness

We are getting used to our new place.

Atalia doesn't like it when we sneak off to use the restroom. She's waiting for Daddy outside the door.

These are her jammies from her Grandma and Grandpa Hansen. I thought they would be a little big, but they actually fit her pretty well. She looked so snuggley in them too!

Quick Trip To Logan

We are loving that we are in a place that is a short drive to both of our parents. We were able to make a quick trip to Logan two weeks ago to see my dad.

My parents are moving to Logan. My dad has already started living there (hence the hotel room) while my mom is still back in NC getting the house ready to sell.

We got the tour at my dads new office. Tali found someone's cubicle a nice place to sit.

Daddy playing with Tali at Einstein Bagels. Yum Yum Yum.

She finally crashed.
